Apple's USB-C to Lightning Cable is a 1-meter cable for charging, syncing and transferring data between a Lightning-equipped iPhone or iPad and a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port.
This is the Lightning-side cable Apple ships for older iPhone and iPad models that predate the USB-C switch, sold separately from any power adapter. Its main value is fast charging when paired with one of Apple's higher-wattage USB-C adapters, rather than the cable adding anything on its own.

Fast charging depends on the adapter it is paired with. Apple lists the 18W, 20W, 29W, 30W, 61W, 87W and 96W USB-C Power Adapters as the ones that unlock fast charging on supported iPhone models; a lower-power adapter will still charge the device, just more slowly.
