Overview
Scanning a field or tree line after dark is the job of this handheld thermal imager. It forms a heat image on a small sensor, uses image stabilization to steady the view, and links by Wi-Fi to a phone.
The reason to buy is a rugged, waterproof thermal viewer with a long warranty and carry accessories in the box. The limit is fixed focus, a basic sensor and little detail about the phone app.
Who it's for
Outdoor users who survey open ground at night, then share images to a phone, will use it as designed. Buyers who need high detail or a daylight view should consider other optics.
Pros and cons
- Carrying case and lanyard included
- Long warranty period
- Fixed focus only
- Modest sensor resolution
- App details not listed
Performance notes
A thermal sensor reads heat differences, so warm animals stand out against cooler ground in darkness. Resolution enhancement and stabilization improve how the image looks, but the sensor resolution sets the detail limit. Battery runtime is not given.
