Overview
The Sony BAR 9 is a black soundbar rated at 585 watts with Wi-Fi connectivity, built to be wall mounted or set on a table top. It measures 4.5 by 51.25 by 2.63 inches and weighs 12.1 lb.
At just over 51 inches wide, the BAR 9 is sized for larger TVs where a shorter bar would look undersized beneath the screen. Wi-Fi connectivity points to streaming and multi-room features beyond basic Bluetooth pairing, though the listing does not detail which streaming services or surround formats it supports.
- 585W power rating
- Wi-Fi connectivity
- Wall mount and table top compatible
- 51.25 in wide black bar
Who it's for
Fits owners of wide-screen TVs who want a single-bar upgrade over built-in speakers and plan to use either wall or table top placement. Buyers chasing a compact bar for a small TV stand should look at shorter models instead.
Pros and cons
- Wall mount or table top placement
- 585W combined power rating
- Wi-Fi for streaming beyond basic Bluetooth
- No surround channel or format breakdown listed
- At over 51 inches wide, needs a TV and space to match
Performance notes
585 watts is a combined power figure across the bar rather than a per-channel number, and Wi-Fi, versus Bluetooth-only, generally means more stable streaming and support for multi-room audio setups, though the listing does not break either spec down further.
