Overview
Shakespeare's Cirrus combo pairs a 6.5-foot, two-piece graphite spinning rod with a size 30 reel rated for 6-12 lb line, aimed at crappie. The rod and reel together weigh about 0.36 kg.
Graphite blanks are lighter and more sensitive than fiberglass or composite rods, which suits crappie fishing where feeling light bites matters more than raw lifting power. Pairing a size 30 reel with a 6-12 lb line range keeps the whole combo proportioned for panfish rather than the heavier gear built for bass or saltwater.
- 6.5-foot, 2-piece graphite rod
- Size 30 spinning reel
- 6-12 lb line rating
- Built for crappie fishing
Who it's for
Crappie and panfish anglers who want a light, sensitive spinning setup with the rod and reel already matched. Not built for anyone needing to fish line heavier than 12 lb or targeting larger species.
Pros and cons
- Lightweight graphite blank for bite sensitivity
- Reel pre-matched to rod for setup ease
- Two-piece rod packs down for transport
- 6-12 lb line range limits heavier species
- No drag or gear ratio spec provided
Performance notes
The graphite blank transmits light bites better than heavier rod materials, which matters most when fishing for crappie since their bites are often subtle. Weighing about 0.36 kg for the rod and reel together, the combo stays light enough for extended casting sessions typical of panfish trips.
