Overview
A fingerprint and app controlled door knob with a mechanical key backup, finished in matte black. It switches between passage, normal, privacy and silent modes by rotating the thumb turn, and runs on a rechargeable battery good for about a year between USB-C charges.
The four mode options let one knob behave differently depending on the room, from a bedroom that auto-locks in 6 seconds to a space that stays open in passage mode. The listing is specific that it should not go on a door with a weather strip installed, which rules out some exterior applications.
- Passage, normal, privacy and silent modes
- Normal mode auto-locks after 6 seconds
- Rechargeable battery, about 1 year per charge
- App alerts below 21 percent battery
Who it's for
Buyers who want fingerprint or app based entry for an interior door like a bedroom or office, and are comfortable recharging a battery periodically. Not for doors fitted with a weather strip, per the manufacturer's own note.
Pros and cons
- Four switchable modes cover different rooms and needs
- App sends a low battery warning before it dies
- Fingerprint, app, and key entry in one knob
- Rechargeable via USB-C, no disposable batteries
- Not suitable for doors with a weather strip
Performance notes
Rotating the thumb turn switches between passage mode for free entry, normal mode with a 6 second auto lock, privacy mode, and a silent mode, so the same knob can suit a front hallway or a bedroom door differently. The rechargeable battery is rated for about a year and charges over USB-C, and the companion app sends a low battery alert once charge drops below 21 percent, giving warning before it dies.
