Overview
The DEWALT DXV05S-QT is a corded 120 volt tool drawing 8 amps with a 960 watt motor, weighing 16.9 pounds. The DXV model prefix places it in DEWALT's wet or dry vacuum line rather than a general power tool.
DEWALT's DXV series covers wet and dry shop vacuums, and the power figures here, 8 amps and a 960 watt motor on a 120 volt corded connection, match that kind of suction motor rather than a saw or drill. Amazon files this listing under a generic Specialties category with no further description, so tank capacity and accessory contents are not confirmed by the data on hand.
- 960 watt motor
- 120V, 8 amp corded
- 16.9 pounds
Who it's for
Anyone doing job site or workshop cleanup who wants a corded DEWALT vacuum with a full size motor. Not the right listing for someone who needs tank capacity or hose length confirmed before buying, since those details are not published here.
Pros and cons
- 960 watt motor gives strong suction for a corded unit
- No battery to charge, runs as long as it is plugged in
- DEWALT build and brand support
- Tank capacity not listed on this ASIN
- Corded design needs an outlet or extension cord nearby
Performance notes
An 8 amp draw on a 960 watt motor is a meaningful power figure for a shop vacuum, enough to handle debris and standing water without straining. Being corded rather than battery powered means run time is not a concern, at the cost of needing an outlet or extension cord nearby.
