Overview
The GoveeLife H717A is a 1.7L smart electric kettle with a tea infuser, app and voice control, and four preset temperatures from 180°F to 212°F. It suits daily tea or coffee drinkers who want to start heating water remotely and hold it at a set temperature.
One long-term reviewer of six months had the opposite experience, finding the kettle can't be fully drained by design, which led to hard water buildup and slower boils, and called the app and support unhelpful.
- 1.7L capacity, 1500W element
- 4 preset brewing temperatures
- App, Alexa and Google Assistant control
- 2-hour keep-warm function
Who it's for
Suits someone who drinks tea or coffee daily and wants app or voice-controlled temperature. Not for anyone who wants to swap between preset modes on the fly without a manual reset, or who won't keep up with regular descaling.
Pros and cons
- App and voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant
- Four temperature presets accurate to about 1°F
- Keep-warm holds temperature up to 2 hours
- LED screen shows target and live temperature
- Infuser is harder to clean than a mesh basket
- Some presets can't be edited without a manual reset
- Can't fully drain, causing hard water buildup
Performance notes
The 1500W element heats 1.7L of water in about 8 minutes and holds a chosen temperature within roughly 1°F, using four presets tuned for green tea, oolong, coffee and black tea.
