Overview
A quantum dot color layer over a direct LED backlight produces the picture on the VIZIO set, with Dolby Vision HDR handling bright and dark scenes. VIZIO OS supplies the apps and free channels, and phones can cast to it through AirPlay or Google Cast.
Rich QLED color, Dolby Vision and a fast gaming mode in a smaller screen make it a strong second room TV. Casting works from both iPhones and Android phones without extra hardware. The smart platform requires a VIZIO Account before apps and updates work.
Who it's for
Small rooms, gaming desks and kitchens suit this screen size, and owners of either phone platform can cast to it. Buyers who want a TV that works fully without signing in to an account should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Dolby Vision HDR support
- Quantum dot color
- Fast gaming mode at lower resolution
- Casting from iPhone and Android
- VIZIO Account required for smart features
- Speaker channel count listed ambiguously
- Peak brightness not listed
- Full speed gaming only at lower resolution
Performance notes
Color comes from the quantum dot layer, which converts the LED backlight into purer reds and greens. The direct LED backlight lights the panel from behind, so brightness stays even across the screen. Gaming speed depends on resolution: the panel reaches its fastest frame rate only when the console or PC sends a lower resolution signal.
