A durable, corrosion-resistant pliers set with a proven track record among saltwater anglers, though expect to add your own grip fix since the aluminum handles turn slippery when wet.

Overview
This Gambler danco set pairs 7.5 inch aluminum fishing pliers with tungsten carbide side cutters and a 7 inch fillet knife, built from T6-6061 aircraft grade aluminum with stainless steel jaw inserts. It is aimed at anglers who want a hook-removal and line-cutting tool that survives saltwater use.
Nearly every review addresses the pliers specifically rather than the knife, and the recurring theme is that the aluminum handles get slick once wet, which several buyers solved by wrapping the grips in tape or fishing line.

- Tungsten carbide side cutters
- Stainless steel jaw inserts
- 5 year limited warranty
Who it's for
Suited to saltwater and surf anglers who need a durable hook-removal and line-cutting tool and don't mind adding grip tape for wet-hand use. The nylon sheath is functional but at least one reviewer preferred a plastic holster instead.
Pros and cons
- Tungsten carbide cutters resist rust over years
- Stainless jaw inserts hold up to saltwater use
- Compact enough to carry on a belt sheath
- Includes a 7 inch fillet knife in the set
- Aluminum handles get slick when wet
- Nylon sheath retainer strap can get in the way
Performance notes
The tungsten carbide side cutters are built to cut monofilament, fluorocarbon, and braided line, while stainless steel jaw inserts add leverage for hook removal.
