Overview
A hotel room, rental or car interior is where this detector earns its place, scanning for devices that broadcast your private moments. The JMDHKK detector senses wireless transmissions and, with its probe, magnetic GPS trackers.
Two detection methods, RF signals and magnetic fields, cover both wireless bugs and trackers stuck under a car. Silent vibration alerts suit discreet sweeps. It relies on devices transmitting, and detection range depends on signal and magnet strength.
Who it's for
Business travelers, renters and anyone worried about a tracker on their car will use it. People needing professional level counter surveillance should hire a specialist.
Pros and cons
- Detects RF transmitters
- Magnetic probe for trackers
- Silent vibration mode
- Simple two button control
- Needs devices to be transmitting
- Range not stated
- Phones and routers trigger alerts too
Performance notes
The RF antenna senses nearby transmissions and the LED bar rises as you approach the source, so sweeping slowly works better. Everyday Wi-Fi and phones also transmit, so turning them off reduces false alarms. The magnetic probe only reacts to strong magnets close by.
