Overview
The Calamus TMBK02 is a multi-piece fishing tool kit that bundles pliers, a lip gripper with tape measure, a fillet knife, a rechargeable digital fishing scale, a retractor, gloves, scissors, and a pocket knife into one set.
The standout piece is the rechargeable digital scale, which weighs to within 0.04 lb up to 55 lbs and stores three readings in memory; it runs on USB-C rather than disposable batteries.
- Kit includes pliers, lip gripper, fillet knife, scale, retractor, gloves, scissors and pocket knife
- Scale weighs up to 55 lb / 25 kg in 0.04 lb increments
- USB-C rechargeable scale with about 5 hours of screen-on use
- Lip gripper has a 1.2m detachable, self-locking tape measure
Who it's for
Suited to anglers who want a compact grab-and-go kit for a kayak, boat, or bank fishing trip rather than buying each tool separately. Less suited to anyone fishing regularly in the surf or expecting a fully waterproof scale.
Pros and cons
- Fillet knife stays sharp through heavy use
- Compact scale and lip gripper fit in a pocket
- Retractable tape measure locks in place and detaches for standalone use
- Pliers include a hex wrench and non-slip handle
- Scale is not waterproof and can fail if it gets wet
- USB-C port cover isn't tethered and can be lost
- One buyer received a unit that arrived broken and wouldn't hold a charge
