Overview
The HOOK-EZE LB-combo is a set of 3 ABS plastic knot tying tools in green, blue, and orange, described in the listing as fishing knot tying tools rather than fly tying gear despite the category label.
HOOK-EZE's tools are built to hold and guide line while tying fishing knots, a different job from fly tying vises used to wrap fly patterns. The category text here appears to be a mismatch with what the spec data actually describes.
- 3 count knot tying tools
- ABS plastic construction
- Green, blue, orange colorway
- Marketed as fishing knot tools
Who it's for
Fits anglers who want a quick way to tie knots at the water's edge, especially in low light or cold when fine motor work is harder. Not a fit for fly tiers looking for a bobbin, vise, or hackle pliers.
Pros and cons
- 3 tools included, good for spares or sharing
- ABS plastic resists corrosion near water
- Color-coded green, blue, orange
- Not an actual fly tying tool despite the category
- No line weight range specified
Performance notes
ABS plastic construction keeps the tools light and corrosion-resistant for use around water, and having three color-coded units means spares are on hand if one is misplaced.
