Overview
A Smart Fader that matches volume, tempo and bass as you slide the crossfader does the hard part of mixing on this AlphaTheta controller. It draws power over USB-C from a phone, tablet or computer and plays through their speakers or an external system.
Learning to mix is quicker when beatmatching is handled for you and streaming libraries plug straight in. Experienced DJs will outgrow the simple two-channel layout.
Who it's for
New DJs practicing at home or with friends on a phone or laptop. Working DJs needing more channels and outputs should look higher.
Pros and cons
- Smart Fader handles beatmatching
- Runs on USB-C bus power
- Mixes from streaming services
- Very light and compact
- Only two channels
- Connectivity rows conflict
Performance notes
Smart Fader adjusts tempo and EQ automatically during transitions, so results depend on how the app reads each track. Bus power simplifies setup, while audio quality relies on the device and the output you connect.
