Overview
Nokia's FastMile gateway turns a cellular signal into a home Wi-Fi network, receiving cellular data service and sharing it over dual-band Wi-Fi. It is unlocked and managed from an app.
Unlocked cellular service with modern Wi-Fi can replace a cable modem and router where coverage is strong. The listing's bullets are placeholder text, so carrier support, bands and setup need checking before purchase.
Who it's for
Rural or renter households relying on cellular internet get a gateway that shares it over Wi-Fi. Buyers on cable or fiber should stay with a standard router.
Pros and cons
- Unlocked for 5G, 4G and LTE
- Wi-Fi 6 dual-band
- Wired ports for a desktop or switch
- Carrier compatibility not listed
- Placeholder bullet text
- Short 90-day warranty
Performance notes
Speed depends first on the cellular signal reaching the gateway, so placement near a window facing the tower matters. The newer Wi-Fi standard then shares that connection across many devices on two bands. Wired ports give a desktop or switch a direct link.
