Overview
Graco's 2216352 is a rear-facing infant car seat that installs with the vehicle's latch system, rated to 30 pounds. It weighs 17.88 pounds and uses a polyester shell.
This sits in Graco's infant-seat tier, meant for the first months of a child's life rather than as a convertible seat that grows with them. The 30 pound cap and rear-facing-only orientation mean parents will need a separate forward-facing or convertible seat once a child outgrows it.
- Infant age range
- Rear-facing orientation
- Latch installation
- 30 lb weight capacity, 17.88 lb seat
Who it's for
Good for parents of a newborn or infant who want a rear-facing seat that clicks in and out via latch. Not a fit for anyone shopping for a single seat to cover infant through toddler years.
Pros and cons
- Latch installation for a consistent fit
- Rear-facing design built for infants
- 30 pound limit means it will be outgrown before toddlerhood
- Rear-facing only, no forward-facing use
Performance notes
Latch installation generally gives a more consistent, easier fit than seat belt routing, which matters for an infant seat parents move between a base and stroller frame often. The 30 pound limit is standard for infant-only seats and typically covers roughly the first year or two depending on the child's growth.
