Overview
Not a standard edge-lit set, this Sony Bravia uses thousands of Mini LEDs with local dimming to control brightness across the screen. Google TV handles streaming, and the bundled Austere strip filters power and charges small devices.
Big-screen contrast and color for movies and sports is the reason to buy. Anti-reflection and wide-angle tech help in bright rooms and wide seating. Its size and weight demand careful planning for wall or stand.
Who it's for
Movie fans and sports viewers with a big wall will appreciate the contrast and size. Apartments with short viewing distances will find it overwhelming.
Pros and cons
- Mini LED local dimming
- Strong color processing
- Anti-reflection and wide viewing
- Dolby Atmos sound
- Wall mount not included
- Peak brightness not stated
Performance notes
Contrast comes from dimming zones switching off behind dark areas, which limits blooming around bright objects. The processor analyzes scenes to tune color and detail. The anti-reflection layer helps most in rooms with windows.
