Overview
The Momcozy BM04 is a WiFi baby monitor with a 5 inch 1080P parent unit and wall mount, built to work either as a dedicated non-wifi pair or connected to the Momcozy app for remote viewing away from home.
Its standout feature is a geofenced danger zone alert that notifies you in the app if a baby leaves a set safe area, layered on top of motion detection for covered-face or face-down sleeping positions, though those motion alerts only appear in the app, not on the parent unit. Camera placement matters here: Momcozy specifies at least 24 inches above the baby and no more than 16 feet horizontally for the infrared night vision to work properly.
- 5 inch 1080P parent unit with wall mount included
- Danger zone geofence alert via app
- Motion detection for covered-face or face-down sleeping
- 5000mAh battery with 2-way talk and night vision
Who it's for
Suits parents who want both a dedicated parent-unit screen for home use and app access for checking in remotely, plus extra safety alerts like the danger zone feature. Less suited to anyone wanting motion alerts to show on the physical parent unit rather than just the phone.
Pros and cons
- Works as a dedicated parent-unit monitor or over Wi-Fi for remote access
- Danger zone geofence alert plus motion detection for face-down sleeping
- Video can be shared with up to 20 family members
- Motion and danger zone alerts appear only in the app, not on the parent unit
- Wi-Fi pairing requires 2.4GHz specifically
- Night vision and focus depend on mounting within specified height and distance limits
Performance notes
The BM04 splits into two connection modes: a direct link to the dedicated parent unit for home viewing, or the Momcozy app over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi for remote access shared with up to 20 family members. Camera performance depends on placement: Momcozy calls for at least 24 inches of height above the baby to keep focus sharp, and no more than 16 feet of horizontal distance from the crib for the infrared night vision to light the scene clearly.
