Askar SQA106 Petzval Astrograph Refractor

Overview

The Askar SQA106 is a manual-focus telescope weighing 5.82 lb. Askar's SQ line targets astrophotography, and the SQA106 designation points to a 106mm-class apochromatic refractor, though this listing doesn't spell out aperture or focal length.

With only weight and focus type confirmed in the available data, this listing reads more like a bare-bones spec placeholder than a full optical description. Buyers used to comparing telescopes by aperture, focal ratio or glass type won't find those numbers here.

• Manual focus

Who it's for

Best approached by buyers who already know the SQA106 from Askar's own documentation and are comparing price or availability. Not a good starting point for someone new to telescopes who needs aperture and focal length to make a decision.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Manual focus on a telescope means a focuser you turn by hand, typically rack-and-pinion or helical, rather than motorized. At 5.82 lb, this is light enough to mount on a standard photo tripod head rather than requiring a heavy-duty astronomical mount.
