Overview
KANAMA's SH001 hooks are carbon steel offset hooks in a medium size, sold in a pack of ten with a silver finish, sized for rigging soft plastics or bait where an offset bend helps keep the point angled for a solid hookset.
An offset hook has a bend near the eye that keeps a soft plastic body straight along the shank and angles the point for a better hookup on the strike, which is the main reason anglers reach for this style over a straight shank hook. Carbon steel holds a sharp point but is more prone to corrosion than coated or stainless options if it sees regular saltwater use.
- 10 hooks per pack
- Offset hook style
- Carbon steel construction
- Silver finish
Who it's for
Anglers rigging soft plastics or bait who want a mid-size offset hook in a small pack. Not the right pick for someone who needs a specific numbered hook size rather than a generic medium.
Pros and cons
- Offset bend improves soft plastic rigging
- Pack of 10 covers multiple rigs
- Carbon steel can corrode without a coating
- Labeled only M, no numeric size given
Performance notes
The offset bend near the eye helps keep a soft plastic body straight on the hook and improves the hookset angle when a fish strikes. Carbon steel takes an edge well but should be rinsed and dried after saltwater use, since it lacks the corrosion resistance of stainless or coated hooks.
