Overview
A soft protective collar sized for dogs and cats over 22 lbs, made by Dechra Veterinary Products under its Atopivet line aimed at skin care rather than general post surgical recovery. The collar itself is the only component included.
Where the category label lumps this under general recovery cones, the product name specifies a skin care collar, and the manufacturer is a veterinary dermatology brand, so this is built around limiting licking and scratching tied to skin conditions rather than wound protection after surgery. At 29 inches and rated for large dog breeds, it is sized for bigger animals only.
- Made by Dechra Veterinary Products
- 29 inch size for large breeds
- Single collar component
- Solid black, all life stages
Who it's for
Suits owners managing a dog or cat with a skin condition who need to stop licking or scratching without a rigid plastic cone. Not sized for cats or small dogs under 22 lbs, since the listing specifies larger animals only.
Pros and cons
- Lower profile than a rigid cone
- Sized specifically for larger dogs and cats
- From a veterinary dermatology brand
- Sized for animals over 22 lbs only
- No warranty listed by the manufacturer
Performance notes
The solid black collar is a single piece design rather than an inflatable or cone style, which keeps it lower profile than a traditional cone while still limiting the animal's reach to its own body.
