Overview
This Chicco forward-facing car seat is built for toddlers, rated to 100 pounds, and installs with either a belt lock-off or the LATCH system.
The shell mixes metal, plastic and polyester and weighs 25 pounds, with a footprint of 20 inches deep by 17.5 inches wide by 26 inches tall.
- 100 pound weight capacity
- Forward facing orientation
- Belt lock-off or LATCH installation
Who it's for
Parents whose child has outgrown a rear-facing infant seat and needs a forward-facing seat with a high weight ceiling. Families wanting a rear-facing convertible seat for a newborn should look elsewhere, since this seat is forward facing only.
Pros and cons
- 100 pound weight capacity extends usable years
- Installs via belt lock-off or LATCH
- High rating across a large review count
- Forward facing only, not for infants needing rear-facing
- 25 pounds is on the heavier side for repositioning between cars
Performance notes
The dual installation options, belt lock-off or LATCH, give flexibility across different vehicle setups, which matters when a car lacks LATCH anchors in every seating position. The 100 pound weight capacity is well above what most toddlers need at the start, so the seat is built to last through several years of forward-facing use rather than being outgrown quickly.
