Overview
A sunny windowsill, a cold room and a dark bedroom each bring out a different shade in this Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty. The silicone putty stretches, bounces and pops, and it reacts to warmth, sunlight and darkness to reveal its colors.
Changing colors through several effects gives kids a reason to keep testing it beyond simple squishing. The listing has no cleanup guidance, which matters for a putty that can collect lint.
Who it's for
Suited to kids and adults who fidget while thinking and enjoy science style surprises. Parents of toddlers or homes with lots of carpet may prefer a different toy.
Pros and cons
- Changes colors with heat and sunlight
- Glows in the dark
- Never dries out
- Comes in a reusable tin
- Cleanup tips not listed
- Can collect lint and hair
- Small tin for big hands
Performance notes
Color shifts come from heat sensitive and light reactive pigments, so warming it in hands, chilling it or leaving it in sun each changes the shade. Glow strength depends on how much light it absorbed first.
