Overview
This is a magnetic pet door built into a screen door panel, sized 8.3 x 10.3 inches, made for cats and small dogs to pass through a sliding screen door. It auto closes with a magnetic flap and includes a lock to seal it shut when needed. Made by Namsan in black.
Rather than cutting a hole into an existing screen, this is a full replacement screen door panel with the pet door already built in, which avoids modifying a screen an owner may want to keep intact. The magnetic flap is meant to swing closed after the pet passes through, and the lock lets an owner seal the opening completely, useful overnight or when a pet needs to stay in or out. Sizing at 8.3 x 10.3 inches, it is built for cats and small dogs rather than larger breeds.
- 8.3 x 10.3 inch pet passage
- Magnetic auto closing flap
- Lockable closure
- Built into a full sliding screen door panel
Who it's for
Suits households with sliding screen doors who want a built in pet passage for a cat or small dog, without cutting into their current screen. Not sized for medium or large dogs given the 8.3 x 10.3 inch opening.
Pros and cons
- Magnetic flap auto closes after use
- Lockable for full closure when needed
- Replaces the whole screen panel instead of cutting into an existing one
- 8.3 x 10.3 inch opening limits it to cats and small dogs
- Requires fitting to a sliding screen door track
Performance notes
The magnetic flap is designed to swing shut on its own after the pet passes through, which helps keep drafts and insects out between uses. The lock feature adds a second layer, letting the opening be closed off entirely rather than relying on the magnets alone.
