Overview
EcoFlow pairs the River Plus power station with a folding solar panel so it can recharge off grid in an afternoon of sun. It runs small devices quietly, switches over as a UPS, and accepts an extra battery for longer runtime.
A complete small solar kit that charges fast from the wall or the sun is the reason to buy. The steady output limits it to laptops, lights, fans and small appliances.
Who it's for
Weekend campers, van travelers and home office users protecting a router will make good use of it. Households wanting whole home backup need a much larger unit.
Pros and cons
- Solar panel included
- Fast wall charging
- Expandable with an extra battery
- Light enough to carry
- Modest steady output
- Only three AC outlets
- Small base capacity
Performance notes
Runtime equals capacity divided by load, and efficiency gains matter most for low draw devices. X-Boost lets some higher wattage devices run at reduced voltage. Solar charge time depends on panel angle and sunlight.
