Overview
A four-piece fishing tool kit pairing a 7 inch pliers, 7 inch fillet knife, 4.5 inch scissors, and an 8.5 inch fish lip gripper, aimed at anglers who want their core tools matched and carried together.
Each tool uses a different steel for its job: the pliers are forged S45C carbon steel for toughness, while the knife and scissors use SUS420 stainless for edge retention, all with a fluoropolymer coating for corrosion resistance around saltwater or wet gear. The lip gripper is polypropylene rather than metal, which is why it floats if dropped.
- 7 inch corrosion-resistant pliers with multi-function jaw
- 7 inch flexible SUS420 fillet knife
- 4.5 inch scissors rated to cut line up to 40 lb
- 8.5 inch floating lip gripper rated to 55 lb
Who it's for
Fits anglers who want a matched set of core hand tools rather than buying pliers, a knife, scissors, and a gripper separately. Less suited to anyone who already owns quality individual tools and only needs one replacement piece.
Pros and cons
- Matched four-tool set covers pliers, knife, scissors, and gripper
- Fluoropolymer coating resists corrosion
- Lip gripper floats and locks, rated to 55 lb
- Each tool includes its own sheath or carabiner
- A full set costs more upfront than buying one tool
Performance notes
The fluoropolymer coating on the pliers, knife, and scissors is the layer doing the corrosion resistance work in saltwater conditions, while the multi-functional pliers jaw handles split rings, hook removal, weight crimping, and line cutting in one tool. The scissors are rated to cut braided, mono, and fluorocarbon line up to 40 pounds, and the lip gripper's locking mechanism and 55 lb rating are what keep a larger fish secured once gripped.
