Overview
Not a plain reading lamp: the Govee H60B0 is a freestanding smart uplighter with three separately controlled lighting zones and a ripple projector that spreads moving light patterns across a wide area. Color, white temperature and scenes are set from the app, by voice, or through Matter.
Three zones and a projected ripple effect turn one corner fixture into room-wide mood lighting that answers to voice assistants and Matter hubs. As a task light it is less clear, since the listing gives no brightness figure, and every advanced effect depends on the app.
Who it's for
Smart home owners decorating a corner of a living room, loft or kids room get color scenes, a projected ripple and hands-free control from one stand. People who want simple switch-on light without an app should look at a basic lamp.
Pros and cons
- Three zones controlled independently
- Matter support for smart home hubs
- Works with Alexa and Google Assistant
- Projected ripple covers a wide area
- Brightness in lumens not listed
- Indoor use only, not water resistant
- No remote among included components
- App needed for most effects
Performance notes
Light output is split across three zones, so how bright the room feels depends on how many zones run and at which colors. The ripple projection spreads light over a large area, which softens it for ambiance but leaves less concentrated light for reading. Response to commands depends on the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth link to the app or assistant.
