Overview
The Svbony CAF9359E is a telescope with a 70mm objective lens and manual focus, sized at roughly 12.5 by 9.3 by 6.7 inches and weighing 2.69 pounds.
A 70mm aperture puts this in the entry to mid range for a beginner or family telescope rather than a serious deep sky instrument, and manual focus means there is no motor or electronic focus assist to learn. At under 3 pounds it is light enough to move between rooms or take outside without a cart.
- 70mm objective lens
- Manual focus
- 2.69 lb
Who it's for
Fits someone starting out in astronomy, or buying for a curious kid, who wants a telescope they can set up and adjust by hand. Not the choice for an experienced observer chasing faint deep sky objects, where a larger aperture does more work.
Pros and cons
- Light at 2.69 pounds, easy to carry outside
- Straightforward manual focus with no electronics to fail
- 70mm aperture limits it against fainter deep sky targets
- No motorized or fine focus assist
Performance notes
A 70mm objective lens gathers a modest amount of light, enough for the moon, planets, and bright sky objects, but it will not resolve fine detail on dim targets the way a larger aperture would. Manual focus keeps the optics simple, with sharpness set entirely by hand rather than a motorized system.
