Overview
Zipping in from either side through the full-length center zip, kids sleep warmly in this youth North Face bag built for cool nights. Synthetic insulation holds its loft, and a water-repellent shell sheds light moisture.
Young campers get a warm, light synthetic bag that packs small for backpacking. The height limit means growing kids will need a full-size bag before long.
Who it's for
Family campouts and youth backpacking trips suit this bag. Teens near or over the height limit need an adult bag.
Pros and cons
- Center zip suits side sleepers
- Vents from the bottom on warm nights
- Stretchy quilting in the lower leg
- Compression stuff sack included
- Height limit restricts growing kids
- Short warranty period
- Water repellent, not waterproof
Performance notes
Warmth comes from the synthetic microfiber insulation, which recovers loft after compression. The water-repellent finish handles light moisture, but real-world warmth still varies with weather and the sleeping pad underneath.
