Overview
Ghosthorn's handheld fish scale weighs about 7.84 ounces and comes in orange, with an aluminum alloy build noted in the listing for durability streamside.
A dedicated fish scale settles the debate at the dock or boat rather than relying on estimates, and the aluminum alloy build noted here should hold up better to wet conditions than a plastic bodied scale.
- Aluminum alloy construction
- About 7.84 oz weight
- Orange color
- Single unit
Who it's for
Anglers who want to weigh their catch on the spot, whether for personal record keeping or tournament weigh-ins. Less relevant to catch-and-release anglers who never weigh fish.
Pros and cons
- Aluminum alloy build suited to wet conditions
- Light at about 7.84 ounces
- Bright orange color for visibility
- No stated maximum weight capacity in this listing
- No stated display type, digital or spring
Performance notes
The aluminum alloy build noted in the listing should resist the corrosion that plagues scales left in tackle boxes near saltwater spray, and at under 8 ounces it adds little weight to a tackle bag.
