Overview
IFixit's 145548-1 is a compact hand cutter weighing under 3 ounces, built for close, detail oriented cutting rather than heavy stock removal.
IFixit built its name on repair toolkits for electronics, and this cutter fits that lineage: small and light, made for tight spaces inside devices rather than shop floor work. No description or spec sheet beyond weight is provided, so treat exact jaw geometry and cutting capacity as unconfirmed.
- 2.88 ounce item weight
- IFixit brand, known for repair tools
- Compact, handheld design
Who it's for
Suited to anyone doing repair or assembly work where a full size cutter would not fit or would add unwanted weight to a kit. Not the pick for cutting heavier gauge wire or cable.
Pros and cons
- Very light for extended handheld use
- Compact size for tight spaces
- No cutting capacity or blade material listed
- Not suited to heavy gauge material
Performance notes
At 2.88 ounces, the tool is light enough for extended handheld use without fatigue, which matters more in repair work involving many small cuts than in a single heavy cut. Beyond weight, no cutting capacity or blade material is specified.
