Overview
The PUR PPT650W is a freestanding filter pitcher holding 64 fluid ounces of water, using activated carbon filtration. It is built in plastic, weighs 1.4 pounds empty, and measures 8.27 x 3.62 x 10.12 inches.
Activated carbon pitchers filter by gravity, so speed depends on the cartridge rather than any pump or line pressure. At 64 ounces this pitcher sits toward the larger end for countertop pitchers, meant for households refilling less often than a smaller model would allow.
- Activated carbon purification
- 64 fluid ounce capacity
- Freestanding pitcher format
- 1.4 pound weight
Who it's for
Households wanting a no-install pitcher filter rather than an under-sink or countertop dispenser system.
Pros and cons
- 64-ounce capacity holds more between refills
- Freestanding, no installation needed
- Gravity filtration is slower than pressurized systems
- Plastic construction rather than glass or steel
Performance notes
Activated carbon filtration removes chlorine taste and odor as water passes through by gravity. Flow rate on pitcher filters typically slows as the cartridge nears the end of its rated life.
