A set for a room where streaming apps and a clean wall look matter more than fast motion. The panel runs at a basic refresh rate, so serious gamers should look elsewhere.

Overview
Not a projector or a monitor built for desks, but a full television that hangs on a wall or rests on its bundled stand. A direct LED backlight lights the panel from behind while the Alpha 7 AI Processor Gen8 handles upscaling and tone mapping. webOS 25 organizes streaming apps and free LG channels from one screen.
Buyers who want a large 4K screen with smart software and a slim profile get a set that mounts easily and finds content quickly. The refresh rate is the limitation: motion stays at the standard panel speed, so fast-paced games and sports will not look as smooth as they do on high refresh displays.
Who it's for
Households that watch movies and series through built-in apps and want the TV to disappear against the wall. The AI processor and Filmmaker Mode serve that habit. Anyone who needs a fast panel for competitive play should pass, since the refresh rate is fixed at the standard speed.
Pros and cons
- Large 4K panel with direct LED backlight
- Alpha 7 AI Processor Gen8 upscales content
- HDR10 and HLG support for compatible sources
- WebOS 25 with free LG channels built in
- Refresh rate is only the standard panel speed
- No voice control listed in the specs
- Sound is a basic two channel setup
- Stand width needs a wide surface
Performance notes
Picture quality comes from the direct LED backlight working with the Alpha 7 AI Processor Gen8, which upscales lower resolution feeds and applies dynamic tone mapping to HDR10 and HLG material. The panel refresh rate caps how smoothly motion renders, so the processor matters most for detail and color rather than speed.

Frequently asked questions
What comes in the box with the LG UA77 65 inch TV?
LG supplies the television, a remote control with its battery, the power cable and the stand. The bundle adds a 6FT 4K HDMI cable, a Premiere Movies streaming download card and a 26 month protection pack on top of the LG limited warranty. No mounting hardware is listed, so a wall bracket is separate.
Does the LG UA77 need a wall bracket for mounting?
The set supports wall mounting through a 200 x 300 mm VESA pattern, but the bracket itself is not part of the box. The included stand is the alternative if the TV sits on furniture. The stand base measures 53.5 inches wide and 11.9 inches deep, so the surface needs to match that footprint.
How many devices can I plug into the LG UA77?
There are 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports, plus Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless sources. A cable or satellite feed can use the ATSC 1.0 terrestrial and QAM cable tuner. Screen mirroring from a phone works through AirPlay 2 and Google Cast.
