Overview
The Chicco 08087106240070 is a forward-facing toddler seat rated to 110 pounds and installed using LATCH connectors. At 5.5 pounds it is built light, consistent with a booster-style seat rather than a full harnessed car seat.
Chicco pairs a metal, plastic and polyester build with a 110 pound weight capacity, a range that extends this seat's use well past the age most convertible seats stop at.
- 110 pound weight capacity
- Forward-facing orientation
- LATCH installation
- 5.5 pound seat weight
Who it's for
Parents with a toddler who has outgrown a harnessed convertible seat and needs a forward-facing seat up to 110 pounds will find this a fit. Parents of infants or young toddlers who still need rear-facing or full harness protection should choose a different seat, since this is forward-facing only.
Pros and cons
- 110 pound weight capacity covers older toddlers
- LATCH installation for a consistent fit
- Light 5.5 pound build
- Forward-facing only, not suited to infants needing rear-facing
Performance notes
LATCH installation clips the seat directly to the vehicle's built-in anchors instead of relying on the seat belt, which generally makes for a faster and more consistent install. The 110 pound weight capacity is well above what most harnessed convertible seats cover, meaning this seat is built to carry a child through the later toddler years once they have moved past rear-facing and full harness stages.
