Overview
Jackery built the HomePower station as a rolling home backup battery that stores enough energy to run large household loads during an outage. Paired with a transfer switch it feeds home circuits, and it recharges from the wall, solar or a gas generator.
Capacity and output put it in whole home backup territory, and expansion packs let it grow over time. The trade for that capacity is weight, so moving it between rooms relies on its wheels rather than carrying.
Who it's for
Suited to homeowners planning for long outages who want battery backup instead of a fuel generator. Weekend campers wanting something to lift into a tent should choose a smaller unit.
Pros and cons
- Runs heavy appliances
- Expandable battery capacity
- Four ways to recharge
- LFP cells for long cycle life
- Heavy to lift
- Transfer switch sold separately
- Outlet layout not described
- Solar panels not included
Performance notes
Run time depends on how much stored energy the loads draw, so a heater drains it far faster than a fridge. LFP chemistry tolerates many charge cycles and resists heat runaway. Recharge speed depends on the source, with combined AC and solar input filling it fastest.
