Overview
This Chicco infant car seat is rated for babies up to 50 pounds and weighs 24.8 pounds itself, built from a metal frame with plastic and polyester components. The model number, 04087206250070, is a SKU-style code rather than a named model line.
Chicco is an established name in infant car seats, and a 50 pound weight capacity is on the higher end for the category, since many infant seats top out closer to 35 pounds. That higher ceiling can extend how long a family keeps using the seat before moving to a convertible model.
- 50 pound weight capacity
- 24.8 pound seat weight
- Metal, plastic and polyester build
- Infant age rating
Who it's for
Fits parents who want an infant seat that can stay in use longer than average due to its 50 pound capacity. Families prioritizing the lightest possible carrier for daily in-and-out use should note this seat's 24.8 pound weight is heavier than many infant seats.
Pros and cons
- 50 pound weight capacity extends usable time
- Metal frame construction
- 24.8 pounds makes it heavier to carry
- Model number is a SKU code, not a named line
Performance notes
The 50 pound weight rating is notably higher than the roughly 30 to 35 pounds common on many infant car seats, meaning a child can potentially stay rear-facing in this seat longer before a switch is needed. That capacity comes with a 24.8 pound seat itself, heavier than average for the infant category.
