Overview
A microSD Express interface lets the Samsung Express card read data far faster than standard microSD cards, which cuts game load times on the newest Nintendo handheld. Dynamic Thermal Guard reduces overheating during long sessions.
Express class speed is what lets the newest Nintendo console load games from a card. In cameras, drones and tablets that only support UHS-I, it falls back to their slower speed.
Who it's for
Switch players who want more space for downloads get a card built for the console. Owners of older devices pay for speed they cannot use.
Pros and cons
- Very fast sequential reads
- Works in the newest Switch
- Backward compatible with UHS-I
- Long limited warranty
- Express speed needs an Express slot
- Write speed not listed
- Capacity only stated in the title
Performance notes
Read speed comes from the Express interface, which only works in hosts with an Express slot. In UHS-I devices the card drops to that bus speed, and Thermal Guard throttles if it gets too hot.
