Overview
This Kenmore 4-slice long-slot toaster pairs a color touchscreen with 6 shade settings, extra-wide self-centering slots and named presets for bagels, gluten-free bread and English muffins, plus reheat and defrost functions.
The trade-offs are size and price: it's a tall, wide unit some owners avoid placing under upper cabinets, and at least one owner had it fail entirely within 9 months.
- 4-slice, extra-wide self-centering slots
- Color touchscreen with 6 shade settings
- Digital countdown timer display
- Defrost, reheat and add-time functions
Who it's for
Suits buyers who want touchscreen presets, a visible countdown and consistently even toast, and who have the counter space and budget for it. Not a fit for tight counter or under-cabinet clearance, or for anyone wary of early failures on a pricier appliance.
Pros and cons
- Touchscreen presets for bread type and shade
- Raise-to-check without cancelling the countdown
- Retractable cord and front-slot-only option
Performance notes
The touchscreen sets shade level 1 through 9 and bread-type presets like bagel or gluten-free, then the toast button lowers the bread and starts a visible countdown. A raise-to-check function lifts the toast mid-cycle to inspect it without cancelling the timer. The wide, self-centering slots aim to toast uneven or thick slices evenly rather than leaving one side pale.
