Overview
A 16 inch wheel folding bike from Cmsbike built around a 1 second fold mechanism, a 7 speed derailleur and disc brakes, weighing about 33 pounds.
The category is folding commuter bikes, not full size cycling, so the small wheels are a deliberate tradeoff for portability rather than a compromise on quality.
- 1 second fold mechanism
- 33 lbs total weight
- 7 speed derailleur with disc brakes
- 95% pre-assembled out of the box
Who it's for
Commuters who need to carry a bike onto trains, into elevators or under a desk will get the most from the fast fold and lighter frame. Anyone wanting full size cycling speed and range should look at a standard bike instead.
Pros and cons
- Folds in about 1 second per the listing
- 33 lbs, light enough to carry up stairs
- 95% pre-assembled, pedals are the main install step
- Vertical stand for compact apartment storage
- Small 16 inch wheels take a ride or two to feel natural
- Not built for speed or long distance riding
Performance notes
The 1 second fold and 33 pound weight are the two numbers that matter most for this category, they're what determine whether the bike actually gets carried onto transit rather than left at home.
