Overview
A traditional three piece core and a polyester shell make the Storm Ice roll straight and predictably. The plastic cover takes oil out of play, so the ball heads where it is aimed for spares instead of hooking.
Straight, repeatable rolls make it a dependable spare ball and a sensible first ball. Hook is minimal by design, and one line of the listing names a different color and the specs list polyurethane.
Who it's for
Beginners on their first ball and experienced players adding a spare converter both gain a dependable straight roll. Those after strike power need a reactive ball.
Pros and cons
- Rolls straight through oil
- Predictable on every throw
- Durable polyester cover
- Works for beginners and pros
- Very little hook
- Color conflicts in description
- Material listed two ways
Performance notes
Polyester creates little friction with the lane, so oil has almost no effect on the line. The symmetric core adds no flare, which leaves the roll repeatable. Speed and target are all that change the result.
