Overview
Launching games at full HD with ray tracing is what this Lenovo LOQ is set up for, combining an AMD Ryzen processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU. A fingerprint reader, a full keyboard with number pad and wired Ethernet support daily use.
Dedicated RTX graphics at an entry level make it a sensible first gaming laptop. The screen's color coverage is limited, so creators who need accurate color should plan on an external monitor.
Who it's for
Teen gamers and students mixing schoolwork with esports titles are a natural match. Color critical creative work needs a better screen than this panel provides.
Pros and cons
- Dedicated RTX graphics
- Fast refresh full HD screen
- Fingerprint sign in
- Wired Ethernet port
- Narrow screen color gamut
- Previous generation GPU
- Bluetooth version only listed as 5
Performance notes
Frame rates come mainly from the RTX GPU, which also handles ray traced lighting at reduced settings. The Ryzen processor manages game logic and background apps. Running off battery cuts GPU power, so gaming runs faster plugged in.
