Florida Medium Blue Crab Trap 24x14x11

Overview

A medium sized wire bait trap built for blue crab, per the OB-MED-BLUECRAB model name. It ships as a single trap made from high-grade wire in a multicolor finish.

Wire traps like this work passively: baited and submerged so crabs enter through funnel openings and cannot easily exit, rather than requiring active casting or retrieval. The medium sizing in the model name points to blue crab specifically, so anglers after small bait fish should look for a finer mesh trap instead.

• Medium size for blue crab
• High-grade wire build
• Multicolor finish
• Sold as one trap

Who it's for

Suits anglers or crabbers who want a dedicated wire trap sized for blue crab, set and checked periodically rather than actively fished. Not suited to anyone needing a trap built for small bait fish, since this one is sized for crab.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

As a passive wire trap, results depend mostly on bait placement and where it is set rather than the trap itself, though the high-grade wire construction should hold up to repeated submersion better than lighter mesh.
