Overview
The Elite Gourmet CCM040X is a large format stainless steel coffee urn that brews 20 to 40 cups, with a two way dispensing lever for filling a single mug or a full carafe, and a reusable filter basket in place of paper cones.
A recurring complaint is spout durability, both a leaking unit and one that wore out after a year of heavy weekday use.
- Brews 20 to 40 cups
- Two way dispenser for single cup or carafe fill
- Brushed stainless steel interior and exterior
- External water level markings
Who it's for
Offices, buffets and parties needing a steady supply of hot coffee for a crowd. Not intended for single serve, everyday coffee making in a small household.
Pros and cons
- Brews large batches quickly, about a cup per minute
- Reusable filter basket avoids paper cone filters
- Dishwasher safe parts for cleanup
- One buyer's spout began leaking on first use and emptied the urn within about an hour
- Another reviewer said the spigot wore out after about a year of daily weekday office use
Performance notes
External water level markings let you fill to the exact serving size you need, and the brewer works through roughly a cup per minute, with the two way lever letting you either fill one cup at a time or flip it fully down for continuous carafe filling.
