Overview
Not an ultra HD streamer, the Fire TV Stick HD plugs into a TV's HDMI port for Full HD apps, with an Alexa+ voice remote to search. The bundled right angle adapter adds wired Ethernet through the stick's USB-C port.
Wired internet through the adapter cuts buffering when Wi-Fi is spotty. Resolution tops out at Full HD, which limits it on larger ultra HD screens.
Who it's for
Bedroom and secondary TVs get easy streaming with stable wired internet. Main ultra HD screens deserve an ultra HD capable stick.
Pros and cons
- Wired Ethernet option included
- Compact, does not block ports
- Alexa+ voice search
- Wi-Fi 6 support
- Full HD only
- Adapter fits USB-C model only
- Wired speed capped by USB
Performance notes
Streaming quality depends on network stability, and the Ethernet adapter removes Wi-Fi drops. The adapter's speed is limited by the stick's USB connection but covers HD streaming. Voice search jumps across apps.
