Overview
A Chicco car seat, model 07087209350070, rated for infants up to 65 pounds and built to convert between rear-facing and forward-facing orientation. It uses Chicco's LeverLock belt-tensioning system and weighs 31.3 pounds on its own.
A 65-pound weight capacity paired with rear- or forward-facing orientation points to a convertible seat meant to stay with a child well past the infant stage, rather than an infant-only bucket seat. The LeverLock system is Chicco's mechanism for tightening the vehicle belt during installation without a separate locking clip.
- Rear-facing or forward-facing orientation
- 65-pound weight capacity
- LeverLock belt-tensioning installation
- 31.3-pound seat weight
Who it's for
Parents wanting one convertible seat that switches from rear-facing infant use to forward-facing toddler use instead of buying two separate seats.
Pros and cons
- Converts between rear-facing and forward-facing
- 65-pound weight capacity covers infant through toddler stages
- LeverLock belt-tensioning for installation
- 31.3 pounds is heavy to move between vehicles
- Large dimensions at roughly 20" x 31.25" x 25.75"
Performance notes
The LeverLock belt-tensioning hardware is designed to pull the vehicle seat belt tight during installation, which is meant to reduce the seat movement that loose lap and shoulder belts can leave behind on a standard install.
