Overview
At just over 15 lb, the Vevor PRS-713RS packs freestanding ion exchange softening into a fiberglass tank rated for 3,596 liters between regenerations, with a footprint of roughly 7 by 7 by 15.5 inches built for tight spaces rather than whole-house cabinets.
Ion exchange is the same core technology larger cabinet softeners use, but the PRS-713RS trades bulk for a small fiberglass tank you can fit in a tight utility spot. What isn't published here is a grain-per-gallon hardness rating, so how often the resin needs regenerating will depend on your local water hardness.
- Ion exchange purification
- 3,596 liter treated capacity
- Fiberglass tank construction
- Compact 7.09 x 7.09 x 15.55 in footprint
Who it's for
Suits a household with limited utility space and moderate softening needs. Not a match for anyone expecting whole-house, high-flow capacity from a cabinet-style system.
Pros and cons
- Small footprint fits tight utility spots
- Light enough at 15.21 lb to reposition without help
- Freestanding format skips wall-mount hardware
- No grain-per-gallon hardness rating published
- Regeneration frequency depends on unlisted water hardness
- Small size limits flow versus whole-house cabinets
Performance notes
Ion exchange resin swaps calcium and magnesium ions for sodium as water passes through the tank, and the 3,596 liter figure marks how much treated water it delivers before the resin bed needs regenerating. That interval shifts with your incoming water hardness, which the listing doesn't specify.
