Overview
A hardened steel bypass blade slicing past a counter blade gives the FELCO 6 its clean cut through branches and stems. Forged aluminum handles in a pink color edition trim the weight, and a sap groove helps prevent the blades from sticking.
Swiss build quality and replaceable parts mean the pruner can be serviced for years instead of thrown out. Its compact frame suits smaller hands, which is also the limit: large hands and thick branches are outside its scope.
Who it's for
Suited to home gardeners and horticulture workers who prune for long stretches and want a lighter, compact tool. Left-handed users and those with large hands should choose a different size or orientation.
Pros and cons
- Bypass blade makes clean cuts
- Light forged aluminum handles
- Sap groove reduces blade sticking
- Replacement parts available for servicing
- Right handed only
- Small capacity limits branch thickness
- No holster or sheath in the box
- Warranty terms not listed
Performance notes
Cut quality comes from the bypass blade passing closely beside the counter blade, which shears stems instead of crushing them. Blade sharpness and pivot tension govern how cleanly that continues over time. Sap buildup is handled by the groove, and worn parts can be replaced.
