Overview
A driver with a home compressor gets a gauge and inflator in one tool, filling through a dual head chuck and reading pressure through a magnifying lens. Milton's original design runs the hose from a trigger to the chuck, and the trigger controls the air flow into the tire.
Serviceable gauge and valve cartridges let a worn part be swapped instead of the whole tool. The listing does not mention lock-on threads, so plan on holding the chuck to the valve while filling.
Who it's for
Home mechanics who already own a compressor and want to fill and read pressure in one squeeze will get the most use from it. Owners of a flat tire with no air left, or anyone who only wants a pocket checker, need another tool.
Pros and cons
- Gauge cartridge can be replaced
- Valve cartridge can be replaced
- Magnifying lens for reading the scale
- Fine steps across a wide range
- Cannot fill a tire with zero pressure
- Off-side head may leak until reseated
- Lock-on threads not listed
- Metric scale only by special order
Performance notes
Air passes from the compressor through the inlet and hose to the chuck, where a self-sealing valve inside the dual head closes the unused side using tire pressure. With no pressure in the tire that valve has nothing to push it, so air escapes. Reading accuracy rests on the replaceable gauge cartridge.

Frequently asked questions
Why does air leak from the other side of the Milton S-506 chuck?
Release the trigger and remove the chuck. Point the straight side up, squeeze the trigger so the sealing valve drops, then place the chuck on the Schrader valve while air is still flowing.
Can the Milton S-506 fill a completely flat tire?
No. The self-sealing valve needs tire pressure to close the unused side, and a tire at 0 pressure has none.
What can the Milton S-506 inflate?
Milton lists cars, SUVs, trucks, bicycles, trailers, motor homes, wheelbarrows, golf carts, lawn tractors, motorcycles and ATVs.
