Overview
Students and office workers who move files between computers get a capless stick with a retractable plug. Slide the connector out, plug it into a standard USB port and drag files across; a downloadable tool adds password protection on Windows.
No cap to lose and a lifetime warranty make it a low-fuss everyday drive. The older USB standard makes large video transfers slow, and the password tool is Windows only.
Who it's for
School, office and home use where files are mostly documents and photos. Video editors, and Mac users who need encryption, should look at a faster drive with cross-platform security.
Pros and cons
- Retractable connector, no cap
- Limited lifetime warranty
- Optional password protection on Windows
- Older USB standard, slow large transfers
- Password tool is Windows only
- Read speed spec looks wrong
Performance notes
Transfer speed is capped by the older USB interface and the flash memory, so large files take far longer than small documents. Password protection runs from downloadable software, not built-in hardware.
