Seaguar Fluoro Premier Fluorocarbon Shock Leader

Overview

Seaguar's 60FP25 spool holds 25 yards of clear fluorocarbon leader material rated at 60 pound test, sold as a single spool sized for tying leaders rather than filling a reel.

At 60 lb test this sits toward the heavier end of Seaguar's leader lineup, more suited to inshore or toothy-fish leaders than light freshwater finesse work. No diameter is given, so matching it to existing knots or guides means checking Seaguar's published specs separately.

• 60 lb test rating
• 25-yard spool
• Fluorocarbon construction
• Clear finish

Who it's for

Anglers building their own leaders for heavier inshore or toothy-fish species will get use out of the 60 lb test and clear finish. Anglers wanting to load a full reel need a longer bulk spool instead of this leader-length one.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

Fluorocarbon leader material sinks faster than monofilament and refracts light closer to water, which is the reason it's tied ahead of a running line instead of loaded onto a whole reel. The abrasion resistance that comes with fluorocarbon also holds up better around structure or a fish's mouth than mono at the same test.
