Overview
A 27 yard spool of Maxima chameleon monofilament at 10 pound test, intended as leader or tippet material for anglers who prefer lighter lines for finesse presentations or smaller species.
Packaged as a Maxima Chameleon Leader Wheel per its special code, this spool supplies line for building leaders rather than a single premade leader. At 10 lb test it sits well below its 20 lb sibling, aimed at lighter tackle work.
- 10 lb test
- 27 yard spool
- Chameleon color
- Monofilament
Who it's for
Anglers targeting smaller or line shy fish who want to cut their own 10 lb leader sections from a chameleon mono supply. Not suited to anyone needing heavier leader strength for bigger fish or connections that demand higher test.
Pros and cons
- 10 lb test suits finesse and light line presentations
- 27 yards covers multiple leader builds
- Chameleon coloring for reduced visibility
- Too light for larger or harder fighting species
- Requires building your own leader rather than tying on a finished taper
Performance notes
The lighter 10 lb rating trades strength for reduced visibility and a thinner diameter, which can help with finesse presentations where a heavier leader would spook fish. As with monofilament generally, expect some stretch compared to fluorocarbon.
